OUR APPROACH TO LEARNING

How do we teach?

We follow the National Curriculum.
Our learning is tailored for different abilities.
Our learning is hands-on: Our students will learn using up-to-date resources, interactive whiteboards, worksheets, educational games and activities; we encourage our students to actively contribute during lessons.
We will publish a list of topics we do each term, so you know what your child is learning.

What does classroom based mean?

We are a classroom-based service, teaching in small groups.
We encourage starting in September so to cover the entire yearly syllabus.
If you happens to join during term i.e. week 7 of the academic year, you will pick up the topics covered in week 7 onwards.
We run on term time and so will break for half term and end of term holidays.

Do you monitor progress?

We will do an assessment each half term to recap the topics covered.
We provide a written progress report each half term to you, identifying areas to improve and suggested actions.

What about homework and extra-learning?

We will set homework each week which will cover topics covered during lesson or for the upcoming lesson.
